Pontiac Man Dies in Crash on Telegraph

Police say the 26-year-old man ran a red light at Telegraph and Hickory Grove in Bloomfield Township, hitting a Toyota Sequoia. No one else was injured.

A 26-year-old Pontiac man died late Friday night in a car accident on Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township.

According to a statement from , the man ran a red light in his 2007 Dodge Charger at Hickory Grove Road and Telegraph at 9:45 p.m., colliding with a 2003 Toyota Sequoia heading eastbound on Hickory Grove.

The two occupants of the Toyota Sequoia — including the driver, a 45-year-old woman from Bloomfield Township — were not injured. The Pontiac man was the only occupant of the Charger.

After the collision, the man's Charger slid off the road and hit a tree, police say. The man was pronounced dead upon arriving at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.

Witnesses told police the Charger made several lane changes and passed several vehicles before running the red light.
