TV Reporter Jailed on 'Super-Drunk' Charges in Bloomfield Township

WDIV-TV (Channel 4) reporter Kevin Dietz has been jailed since April 18 under Michigan's "super-drunk" law after a Feb. 12 arrest in Bloomfield Township, according to a Detroit Free Press report.
Dietz, 48, was cited for driving with a blood-alcohol level of .17 percent, the report indicated, more than twice Michigan's legal limit and qualifying under the state's "super-drunk" law.
According to the report, Dietz was scheduled to be released from Oakland County Jail at 12 a.m. today.

In a statement posted Friday on ClickonDetroit.com, WDIV-TV's website, Dietz apologized to readers.
“I am deeply sorry for my actions. I made a mistake for which I apologize to my family, WDIV and to the viewers. I accept full responsibility and am taking the necessary steps to deal with this matter,” he said.
