Uber Driver Stabs Passenger Who ‘Disrespected’ Vehicle: Police
Bloomfield Township police allege an Uber driver from Berkley ordered a couple out of his vehicle then began stabbing him.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — An Uber driver is in custody after allegedly stabbing a passenger Saturday because he thought his vehicle had been “disrespected,” Bloomfield Township police said. Jacob Matthew Allemon, 23, of Berkley, was arraigned Sunday on an assault charge.
The victim, a 49-year-old Beverly Hills man, sustained multiple stab wounds to his chest, back and face, the police department said in a news release.
The Birmingham Police Department requested the help of Bloomfield Township police about 1:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call about a person who had been stabbed during a fight in the parking lot of a shopping center near the corner of Maple and Cranbrook roads in Bloomfield Township, according to the release. The Birmingham officer, who was about two blocks away when the 911 call came in, found Allemon and the victim fighting in the back seat of Allemon’s 2012 Honda Civic.

The victim and his wife had requested an Uber ride home from a holiday party, and the victim apparently tapped on the window to alert Allemon that they were entering the vehicle.
“Allemon felt his vehicle was disrespected when the victim tapped on the window,” the police department said in the release. “Allemon drove approximately a mile before pulling into the shopping center parking lot. He ordered the victim out of his vehicle.”

It was snowing, and the victim asked if he and his wife could wait for another Uber, police said. At that point, the Allemon allegedly began stabbing the victim multiple times. The victim was able to disarm Allemon and restrain him until police arrived, the release said.
The victim was treated at the scene by the Bloomfield Township Fire Department and taken to Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oak, where he was treated and released the next day.
During his arraignment on a charge of assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in 48th District Court, bond was set at $250,000. His next court date hasn’t been set.
