Young Man Struck, Killed by Amtrak Train in Bloomfield Township

A man walking along the railroad tracks was struck and killed by a commuter train in Bloomfield Township Saturday night, Channel 4 is reporting. 

Members of the Bloomfield Township Police Department and Bloomfield Township Fire Department were still at the scene of the fatality in the area of Big Beaver and Adams roads  tonight, officials said, but no officials were immediately available for comment. 

Further details about the victim were not available. Channel 4 reported the man was in his late teens or early 20s and appeared to be alone on the tracks. The Amtrak train was headed northbound, and no one on board was reportedly injured.
