• Middle School had 4 Asian students in 2024-25 (livingstontoday.com) — Brighton families in the Charyl Stockwell Academy district may notice shifting diversity at the district's middle school, whose central office is based in Brighton. New state data show four Asian students enrolled there in 2024–25, down from six the year before, with white students still making up nearly 90% of the 282-student body amid broader statewide enrollment declines.
   

• Anthony Charles O'Connor (leesburg-news.com) — Brighton residents are remembering Anthony Charles O'Connor, who grew up along Ore Lake in Brighton and later built a life marked by generosity, friendship, and a love of golf. The 72-year-old Pinckney Schools graduate, known for helping anyone in need, died July 15, 2026, and his family suggests memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation or Leader Dogs for the Blind.
