• 72 Hispanic students enrolled at Brighton High School in 2024-25 (livingstontoday.com) — Brighton High School enrolled 72 Hispanic students out of 1,887 total in 2024-25, making Hispanic students the school's second-largest ethnic group. The figures, drawn from state data, show a small year-over-year decline in Hispanic enrollment and a long-term shift in the school's demographics. Districtwide, Brighton High still has the largest Hispanic enrollment among Brighton Area Schools. 
• Brighton Twp. residents can now join five-year 'do not solicit' list (livingstondaily.com) — Brighton Township residents can now place their homes on a five-year "do not solicit" list after officials tightened rules for door-to-door sales following a reported attempted abduction. The updated ordinance requires fingerprint-based background checks, local ID badges, and regular criminal audits for solicitors, while canvassers must check the no-solicit list daily. Township leaders also set new permit lengths, fees, and named the clerk as enforcement officer.
• Artist Dylan Valade Navigates Memory during Residency on Island (mackinacislandnews.com) — A painter who grew up in Brighton is back in northern Michigan as Mackinac Island's latest artist‑in‑residence, creating photorealistic scenes from the Mackinac Bridge's construction. During his stay, he's also teaching a "memory palace" technique that helps him recall key dates tied to the bridge and Grand Hotel, blending Brighton‑rooted perspective with the Island's history.
