• Charges against Utah man for accosting minor in Brighton Twp. dropped (livingstondaily.com) — A criminal charge against a Utah man accused of trying to lure an 8‑year‑old girl into the woods in Brighton Township has been dismissed by a district court judge, who found insufficient criminal intent. Livingston County prosecutors say they respect the ruling but are reviewing the case and considering an appeal, while praising Michigan State Police for their investigation.
   

• No. 17 Men's Cross Country Showcases Depth at Pre-National Meet (hope.edu) — A Brighton High School alum and Brighton resident helped lead Hope College's 17th‑ranked men's cross country team at a major Pre‑National meet in Minnesota this weekend. Sophomore Elijah Forbord, from Howell and Brighton High, paced Hope in the championship race, while another Brighton runner, Tyler Outlaw, contributed depth in the open division.
