Local Students and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Commit to Collecting Food for Michigan's Hungry This Fall

This year, one in 10 Michigan residents will use a food bank and nearly one in four children will be at risk for hunger. To assist local food banks in their efforts to provide critical support to families in need, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations throughout the state have partnered with local schools, such as Walton Charter Academy, to collect food during the Food Bank Council of Michigan’s annual Michigan Harvest Gathering.

Over the past two months, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and its school partners have collected thousands of canned goods and non-perishable items, delivering them to food banks across Michigan, such as Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, just in time for the holiday season. Walton Charter Academy collected over 2,600 items for a total of 3,300 pounds of food to support Michigan Harvest Gathering.

Across Michigan, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK and National Heritage Academies charter schools collected more than 14,000 pounds of food for shelters during the Michigan Harvest Gathering food drive. 

Other local charter schools have done an amazing job as part of the Michigan Harvest Gathering collection for Gleaners Community Food Bank with Prevail Academy, Taylor Exemplar Charter Academy and Laurus Academy each collecting thousands of food items to help those in need.
