Sisters from Clinton Township and Ferndale Give Birth Hours Apart
First-time grandmother was in delivery room for both at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.

(Originally posted on Dec. 21, 2016) If there's anything more special than welcoming a new baby into a family, it's welcoming two —on the same day. On Dec. 13, sisters Rebecca Criscenti, 24, of Clinton Township and Carissa Rys, 28, of Ferndale, delivered babies hours apart at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
The cousins don't just share a birthday. Henry Ford Macomb’s obstetrician, Dr. Ronald Levin, delivered both, The Macomb Daily reported. The first to arrive was Wesley Samuel Criscenti at 7:29 a.m. Rose Leigh Rys was born at 4:33 p.m. Both babies were over 8 pounds, and they were both about 21 inches long.
The babies are the first grandchildren of the sisters' parents, Clinton Township residents Carlo and Shelley Criscenti.

“I started to text my daughters to tell them that Rebecca was in labor and at the same time a text came through from Carissa to tell us that she was at the hospital, too,” Shelley Criscenti, who was in the delivery room for both births, told the newspapers.
