Macomb Community Action Honors Six Individuals for Service to Community
More than 300 staffers bring in thousands of grant dollars to community; best of the best recognized at annual luncheon

(Originally posted on Dec. 15, 2016) CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Six people were honored for charitable work on Dec. 6 at the annual Macomb Community Action awards luncheonheld at Macomb University Center on the campus of Macomb Community College in Clinton Township, the Fraser-Clinton Township Chronicle is reporting.
MCA Director Rhonda Powell told attendees that MCA has worked diligently for the surrounding community for more than 50 years, with more than 300 staffers bringing in tens of thousands of grant dollars.
Honorees had to be nominated by others, be it a coworker, superior or someone else within MCA.

Those honored included:
Sally Adams: Mary George Award for outstanding commitment and service to the agency and community, a new award.

Steve Schuster: Community Action Award, given to an employee who embodies the commitment and work ethic of MCA.
Amy Rybicki: Community Action Award, who for the past four years has worked on the transportation platform, implementing procedures that increase efficiency and accuracy.
India Wray: Compassion Award, given to dedicated volunteers in the community.
Richard Jaszaz: Compassion Award.
Thomas Kelley, a Vietnam veteran who was down on his luck, was given the Empowerment Award due to his own personal growth.
