A rose is a rose, but what to do when the nose is rose?

Pups lead with their nose.

Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan stands silently still upon meeting a new dog, allowing the animal to absorb his scent.  “Balanced dogs experience the world through their nose, eyes, then ears.”  This is so unlike humans who acclimate using their eyes then ears.   

For communication to be effective amongst creatures, it’s best to understand the approach–for if that fails, the rest is of no use.

Noticing that Ralph’s prominent proboscis was turning pink, the resident expert was quickly consulted. Dr. Google diagnosed the condition as “snow nose”—a loss of pigmentation during the winter months. No worries, he’ll be back in the black by summer, but for now the pup’s nose is pale like the rest of us. 

Still works like a charm, though.
