The Third Weekend of "A Little Night Music" at The Players Guild of Dearborn
A blog describing activities at The Players Guild of Dearborn.
The cast and crew of A Little Night Music did three more performances of the Stephen Sondheim musical at The Players Guild of Dearborn over the weekend. Audiences were on the small side, averaging about 50 percent full, but they were also very receptive.
The show has improved since opening weekend. Cast members are more certain of what they're doing. The crew has the set change ballets down and they are being executed in clockwork fashion. This is one of the reasons performers like doing shows at the Guild. In many community theaters, the show closes after two weekends just as the cast and crew finally seem to "know" the show. At the Guild you get a third and, in the case of musicals, a fourth weekend to make the show even better.
Three more chances to get it right.
