Train Wreck in Charlotte

A disaster of a convention in Charlotte is saved by our friends in the Media. The Democrats did not help themselves one iota, and no party will see a convention bump.

I am sorry for the delay in my official post response for the DNC.  But, I have been watching and re-watching speeches to make sure that I give a factually accurate description, so that you only disagree with my opinion.

Some similarities from Tampa and Charlotte:

1. Weather is a pain.  Both parties should learn from the weather disasters that they had this year.

2. The women stole the show at both conventions: Ann Romney, Michele Obama, Condi Rice, Jennifer Granholm (Maybe not in a good way for Jennifer.)

3. There will be no convention bump for either candidate.  Those days are gone, the campaign started too early, and a bad jobs reports will stall President Obama, while Romney will get no significant bump because the DNC was so close to the RNC.

Now here is what I thought of the DNC.  To be quite honest, I believe it was a train wreck that was salvaged by media bias.  Party platforms are the most useless thing in modern politics these days, but the Democrats miraculously made it an issue by leaving out "God and Jerusalem".  To make things worse they then had a floor fight vote, where the chair person called for a vote at least 3 times!! If that had happened to the Republicans, the media would have not stopped talking about it!

Some of the speakers were absolutely great for the Democrats,  Michele Obama was excellent, and so was Bill Clinton.  There is something about Clinton that makes you like him, even if you cant stand the man.  The Democrats would be wise to utilize him.

There were some awful speakers for the Democrats also.  I am sorry, I don't really care to have Joe Biden and Jennifer Granholm shouting at me on t.v.  They were loud, bombastic, and ineffective for moderate voters.  Also, if I had a dollar for every time Biden said "folks"... I'd be a wealthy person.

Overall, I thought the Democrat's convention was terrible.  They made every mistake in the book: they had a floor fight, they had to move their convention inside, and they had awful speakers.  But, the saddest thing was the way the media "saved" the convention.  They glossed over every sad thing that the Democrats did, and couldn't stop oooing and ahhing over every little thing the Democrats said or did.  The time of impartial media is over, lets stop pretending and call a spade a spade.  Fox News is a conservative program, MSNBC is a liberal program, and CNN... well who knows what CNN is good for.  We have to stop kidding ourselves that media is going to inform us because they all have their own agendas.

Media aside, the Democrats are in huge trouble.  President Obama gave a speech with no specifics, and he is struggling to poll above 50% in an poll.  The Democrats will not regain the House, they don't stand a shot.  The senate is probalby going to tie.  Instead of presenting a new plan for America, they went on a rampage to defend the disaster of the past 4 years.

We have a clear choice in this upcoming election, and I believe the Democrats have done nothing to make themselves more desirable. They are going to have to pull a miracle to keep themselves afloat.
