Party's Temporarily Over for Limo Company
Regulators warn consumers not to book trips with a Dearborn Heights limousine and party bus operator.

A Dearborn Heights limousine and party bus company lost its operating permits for keeping vehicles state inspectors said are unsafe in its fleet.
Entertainment Express Limousine and Party Bus, which has a fleet of 25 buses and 12 limos, was blacklisted because of safety violations “we felt posed an imminent threat to safety, Jean Ruestman, manager of the Michigan Department of Transportation’s Bus and Limousine Regulatory Unit, told the Detroit Free Press.
The regulatory agency is warning consumers not to book trips with the company, which also is known as Entertainment Express and Entertainment Limousine.

The problems included insufficient emergency exits, “rusted through” frames, brake line and brake pad problems, and non-working turn signals, the Free Press reported.
On its website, the company says it employs “the best-trained, most experienced chauffeurs in the Detroit area” and touts the cleanliness of its vehicles, which it says are detailed daily.

The company is the same one hired by a group of Berkley High School students who were stranded at their prom last spring when their party limo driver was arrested on a warrant for violating probation on an assault with a dangerous weapon charge.
MDOT had reportedly been investigating the company for several months, but on Nov. 5, an administrative law judge revoked its certificates of authority. To get back in the business, the company needs to pay $1,500 in late inspection fees and $600 to re-establish bus and limo operating permits.
