1 Dead, 4 Injured In Detroit Freeway Crash: Police

A driver was killed in the crash, while three children and an adult were taken to a nearby hospital, Michigan State Police said.

DETROIT — One person was killed and four others were injured in a Monday afternoon crash on a Detroit freeway, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers said the driver of a Chevy Cobalt smashed into the back of the U-Haul while merging from the center lane to the left lane on the Lodge Freeway near West Grand Boulevard at 3:50 p.m.

The driver of the Cobalt was killed in the crash, while three children and one adult in the car suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital, police said.

Two people inside the U-Haul were not injured in the crash, police said.

Officials did not identify any victims in the crash.
