4-Year-Old Killed In Dog Attack: Detroit Police

The dogs, from a yard neighboring the child, are now in the custody of animal control, police said.

DETROIT — A 4-year-old boy was killed in a backyard when he was attacked by at least one of two dogs from a neighboring property, according to Detroit police.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 9300 block of Pierson Street on the city’s west side, police said. One or two pit bulls came from a yard behind the property where the boy was outside, according to police.

The dogs are in the custody of Detroit Animal Control, police said, adding the investigation is ongoing.
