Former Red Wings Return To Celebrate 1997, 1998 Stanley Cup Wins

Here are the former players and coaches who will join the Red Wings this week in celebrating the 1997 and 1998 Stanley Cup victories.

The Detroit Red Wings will celebrate the 1997 Stanley Cup Championship team on Thursday, when they take on the Washington Capitals at 7 p.m. and on Saturday against the New York Islanders at 1 p.m.

DETROIT — Numerous players from the Detroit Red Wings 1997 and 1998 Stanley Cup winning teams will join the team in two games this week to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the titles, the team announced.

The team will celebrate the 1997 Stanley Cup Championship team on Thursday, when they take on the Washington Capitals at 7 p.m. and on Saturday against the New York Islanders at 1 p.m. Photo opportunities will be available from 4:30-5:45 p.m. for Thursday’s game, and from 10:30-11:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Before each game, there will photo opportunities with the Stanley Cup, special vintage merchandise items for sale and fans will get early access to the arena for pictures.
