Man Hit, Killed By Car While Crossing Telegraph Rd. In Wayne Co.: Cops

Investigators do not believe alcohol, drugs or speed played a role in the crash, police said.

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI — A Detroit man was killed Monday morning after he was hit by a car while crossing Telegraph Road in Redford Township, according to police.

Police said the 68-year-old man was running west across eight lanes on Telegraph Road near 5 Mile Road at 6:45 a.m. when he was struck by a car that was moving south.

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

The man was not in the marked crosswalk area while trying to cross the road, police said.
