Metro Detroit Weather: Election Day, Veterans Day Forecast

You may want to leave extra time in your morning commute Monday. Thick fog may stick around through the morning hours.

METRO DETROIT, MI — You may want to plan on leaving early for work Monday as a result of dense fog the National Weather Service said would be moving into Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor overnight Sunday, at times reducing visibility to a quarter of a mile or less. Fog is likely to persist until around 11 a.m. Monday.

If you're looking ahead to Election Day, there's a good chance of rain in the afternoon, so you may want to vote early in the day. Veterans Day on 2016 looks to be a glorious fall day.

Monday: Areas of fog before 11 a.m., otherwise sunny, with a high near 63; calm wind becoming south southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45; southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming southwest after midnight.

Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of rain after 2 p.m.; increasing clouds, with a high near 59; southwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Tuesday night: A 50 percent chance of rain before 2 a.m.; mostly cloudy, with a low around 44; west wind 7 to 13 mph, becoming north northwest after midnight; winds could gust as high as 18 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 56. Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43.

Friday, Veterans Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49.
