METRO DETROIT, MI — Cooler temperatures are forecast for the week, and some rain is in the forecast for Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight lows around freezing are possible by the weekend.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 54; southwest wind around 8 mph. Monday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41; south southwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55; south southwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of rain between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.; mostly cloudy, with a low around 43; southwest wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 59. Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43.
