METRO DETROIT — Warmer temperatures are expected this week in the Metro Detroit area before rain showers move in toward the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures will reach 57 degrees Monday under sunny skies in the metro Detroit area, according to the National Weather Service.

The average temperature for mid-November is around 42 degrees, according to the weather service's data.

The warmer temperatures, with highs reaching the mid 50s, will stick around in the Metro Detroit area until the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The next chance for rain in the metro area comes Friday when highs will 55 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 57. Breezy, with a west wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 34. West northwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind around 7 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon.
