Michigan Fans Name Baby Harbaugh; Jim Harbaugh Gets Giddy On Twitter

Yes, there's a new little Harbaugh in Michigan and, no, it's not big Harbaugh's son, but coach calls him a "winner" and a "champ" anyway.

There’s another baby Harbaugh in Michigan, and he’s no relation to the University of Michigan’s famous football coach Jim Harbaugh. Meet Harbaugh Lee Fettig, whose parents love the Wolverines coach so much they named their fourth son after him.

Little Harbaugh was born to Gregg and Lani Fettig of Moran, Michigan, at War Memorial Hospital at Sault Ste. Marie on Sept. 1, 2016. Big Harbaugh was practically giddy over his namesake on Twitter Tuesday.

“Something about this kid,” Harbaugh, the coach, tweeted, calling the infant a “winner” and a “champ” and telling the Twitter universe to “keep an eye on him.”

It’s too early to know if little Harbaugh will wear the blue and gold in the future, but the strapping baby boy came into the world at 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 20.75 inches long, according to a birth announcement in the St. Ignace News. The newspaper and a birth announcement show the baby sleeping next to a Michigan football, which big Harbaugh may have seen as prophetic.

Harbaugh Lee is the Fettigs’ fourth son. His brothers are Hogan, 9, Colt, 7, and Case, 4.

Coach Harbaugh is a new dad, too. He and his wife, Sarah, had their seventh child, John, in January. He was premature by about a month and was released from the neonatal intensive care unit at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan by the month’s end. The coach is bursting with pride over his baby boy, too, as evidenced by a series of tweets that kept fans in the loop about John’s first few weeks.
