SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — All of southeastern Michigan is under a winter weather advisory Friday morning as a snowstorm moved into the region.
Heavy snow will fall across southeastern Michigan throughout Friday morning before slightly letting in the afternoon hours, and then picking back up in the evening hours, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters warned visibilities on southeastern Michigan roads have dropped to less than a mile on the roads at times due to the heavy snow falling at roughly 1 inch per hour Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Road officials have reported multiple crashes across southeastern Michigan roadways, including slowdowns, spin out crashes and jack-knifed semi trucks along all major metro Detroit freeways.
Areas north of Intestate 69 and in the Thumb will see the heaviest snow with peak snowfall lasting until 10 a.m. Friday and then picking back up between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Forecasters expect the region to see more than 4 inches of fresh snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Areas between Michigan 59 and Interstate 94 will see its heaviest snowfall Friday morning until 10 a.m. before picking back up in the evening hours. Forecasters expected the region to see roughly 3 inches of fresh snow, according to the National Weather Service.
Areas south of Interstate 94 and toward the Ohio border will see the least amount of snowfall, but some areas can see up to 2 inches of fresh snow by Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
