Police Release Video of New Suspect in WSU Officer's Murder
A $15,000 reward for the capture and conviction of the suspect is offered by Crime Stoppers of Michigan.

DETROIT, MI — The Detroit Police Department on Thursday circulated video footage of a suspect in the fatal shooting last month of Wayne State University Police Sgt. Collin Rose, according to reports. The footage shows the suspect riding a small bicycle just before the shooting and then running away.
“We are trying to catch a cop killer,” Detroit Police Chief James Craig said at a Thursday news conference. “We’re still very active in the investigation, trying to find a cop killer.”
On Wednesday, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy dropped murder and other charges against DeAngelo Lamar Davis, 31, who was arrested hours after the Nov. 22 shooting. He was released from custody. Worthy said the investigation revealed that he was not the shooter.

“We had probable cause to arrest him, and he was charged on probable cause,” Craig said in the news conference. “But the investigation never stopped, and as it continued, we got new information. We followed the evidence and the investigation took a direction away from the suspect we had in custody.”
As an example, Craig said Davis walks with a limp, and the suspect they’re looking for doesn’t.

A$15,000 reward has been offered for the capture and conviction of the suspect.
The Homicide Task Force, comprised of the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan State Police, “continues to aggressively commit their time and resources to investigate the death of Sgt. Rose,” Worthy said. “For this reason, we are not at liberty to provide further details about the dismissed case and the ongoing investigation.”
Rose, 29, was shot in the head while conducting a traffic investigation in the area of Lincoln and Brainard in Detroit. He died a day later.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-Speak-Up. The video is below, via The Detroit News.
