The storms will move into the area after 8 p.m. and continue into the overnight hours, the weather service said.
Forecasters warned the storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours, large hail, winds up to 60 miles per hour and isolated tornadoes.

All of southeastern Michigan is under a slight (level 2) risk for severe weather Tuesday night.
More rain is expected across the region Wednesday and Thursday with highs staying in the 70s, the weather service said.

Forecasters said southeastern Michigan could see at least an inch and a half of rainfall through Thursday, with some spots exceeding 2 inches. They warned flooding could be an issue in some areas.
Friday will be dry with highs hovering around 70 degrees before more thunderstorms on Saturday, the weather service said.
Cooler air then moves into the area on Sunday, pushing highs back into the 50s. That cooler air will stick around through early next week, the weather service said.
