METRO DETROIT — A significant warm-up could push temperatures over 90 degrees this week in metro Detroit, according to the National Weather Service.
After a pleasant holiday weekend, temperatures in the region were expected to reach the upper 80s under sunny skies with relatively low humidity Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather service said.
Temperatures can then hit 90 degrees under sunny skies in the region to round out the workweek on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the weather service said.

Temperatures in the region will stay very warm in the region through the weekend and Monday, before cooling back down to the low 80s and upper 70s next week, the weather service said. Forecasters were also expecting a chance of storms Monday.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 85 degrees. Southeast wind 6 to 9 miles per hour.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 86 degrees. South southeast wind 7 to 10 miles per hour.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 88 degrees. Southeast wind 3 to 8 miles per hour.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90 degrees.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85 degrees.
