Dexter Community Orchestra Concludes Season Sunday
The show will feature a performance of Manuel de Falla's "Three Cornered Hat."

The will feature a musical tour around Europe for its final show of the season Sunday at the Performing Arts Center, located in .
The concert opens with Claude Debussy’s tone poem Nocturnes. The DCO will perform the first two movements, Nuages and Fetes. Nuages represents a night barge floating down the Seine River. This is followed by a night party in the Bois de Boulogne.
Following Debussy are the wild Hungarian folk melodies of Bela Bartok's first Violin Concerto, Movement 1, played by Ann Arbor Pioneer High School senior Davis West.

The concert concludes with Manuel de Falla’s "Three Cornered Hat: Dances From Part 2." The music heard in these three dances tells the tale of a miller, his wife and a despised magistrate. De Falla composed his piece for the Ballet Russe at the request of director Sergei Diaghilev. Pablo Picasso designed the costumes and set for the first performances.
"This concert takes us on a journey of dances in Europe," director Tony Elliott said. "It begins with a quiet night in France, followed by a dance and party in a park in Paris. Next, the audience will have the chance to hear the wonderful, rhythmic Hungarian dances that Bartok writes so well.
