The Encore is seeking adult actors of all ages and ethnicities for the following roles in Godspell:
Jesus: (Tenor High G#) Rich and warm. He must be the most charismatic individual in the cast. High energy, charming, funny, gentle, but with strength. He is the sort of person others instinctively follow. Age 18-30.
John the Baptis/Judas: (Baritone E) Rich quality with vibrato. He has attributes of both Biblical figures: he is both Jesus’ lieutenant and most ardent disciple and the doubter who begins to question and rebel. Like Jesus, he is also charismatic, but in more of an over revolutionary way. He is the most “serious” and intellectual of the group, though as with all the actors, he must still possess a good sense of physical comedy. Age 18-30.
Jeffrey: Tenor High D (falsetto). Pop. Very high energy. Impish and playful. Any age.
Lamar: (Tenor High A). Pop. Not the brightest in the bunch, but there is a great sweetness and innocence about him. Any age.
Herb: (Baritone E). The comedian, the class clown. Any age.
Robin: (Alto). A bit of a Tomboy, but basically open and sweet. She is the first of the group to commit to following Jesus in the song “Day by Day.” Any age.
Joanne: (Soprano - High A). The confident one, the show – off. Any age.
Peggy: (Alto). Pure tone/No heavy vibrato. The shy one. Any age.
Sonia: (Low Alto – D below middle C). Vocal quality: Blues and slightly cynical, the most urban of the group. Also the “sexy” one, but her sexiness is a bit put-on. Any age.
Gilmer: (Mezzo) Vocal quality: Blues or Gospel. The female equivalent of the class clown. Any age.
The Encore is seeking adult actresses of all ages and types for the following roles in Nunsene:

Sister Robert Anne: Alto, any age. A tough streetwise nun who has a heart of gold. All the kids adore her because she speaks their language. A constant source of aggravation for Mother Superior.
Sister Mary Amnesia: Soprano, any age. The picture of innocence. She lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. She can't remember her past, and so she looks at each day with a childlike joy.
Sister Mary Leo: Soprano in her 20s. Was a professional dancer before she entered the convent, and she is always eager to display her talent. She entered the convent to become the first ballerina nun.
