Dexter's Piece-Makers Plan Eighth Annual Quilt Show
The event will feature more than 100 locally made quilts on display.

From the 1800s to the present, a collection of 100 quilts will fill the sanctuary of , located at 7610 Ann Arbor St., on May 14.
The St. Andrew’s Piece-makers quilting group is presenting its eighth annual quilt show, featuring quilts and supplies, books, patterns and fiber arts demonstrations. The show will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $4.
This year’s show will feature “grandmothers' quilts,” among many others. These are old, inherited quilts made by the owner’s grandmother and quilts made by local quilters for their own grandchildren.

The Piece-makers make quilts for C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital patients, especially boys. They also make blankets and “coughing bears” for a pediatric team from Mott that conducts a medical mission to Guatemala each year. Proceeds from the show support the group's humanitarian effort.
The Piece-makers have contributed more than 400 quilts, and their goal this year is another 100. The group is open to new members who like to quilt, or would like to improve their skills.

A colorful child’s quilt, appliquéd with transportation vehicles, made by members of the Piece-makers will be raffled during the show.
A luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the quilt café in the fellowship hall.
