• Plan for townhomes, retail falls through in Dexter - it's the fifth project to go away (mlive.com) — Developers have backed out of buying Dexter's 3045 Broad Street redevelopment area, marking the fifth failed attempt to build new housing and retail along Mill Creek Park. Power line easements, brownfield cleanup needs, and limited funding tools are complicating the city's long-running effort to transform these vacant downtown lots, though officials say new interest is already emerging.
   

• HWPI Executive Director Kiff Hamp to Step Down at End of 2026 (thesuntimesnews.com) — Work on the Border to Border Trail segment connecting Mill Creek into downtown Dexter will continue even as Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative director Kiff Hamp plans to depart at the end of 2026. HWPI credits Hamp with major fundraising gains and key trail expansions, and has opened applications this month for a new executive director to start in January 2027.
