Laurie Kokmeyer: Realize Websites specializes in designing and managing small- to medium-size business and organization websites, with a strong emphasis on customer service. Our websites provide a cost-effective, online presence that gives professional credibility.

Kokmeyer: I began teaching middle school in 1989 and became a computer and media specialist in both the Waverly and Whitmore Lake school districts. About three years ago, I started creating my business plan and designed a few websites.
and the Dexter Touchdown Club had faith in our company, and our portfolio has grown to more than 50 clients. We work from our home offices,
as well as by appointment, at the former American Broach and Machine Co. building at 4600 Jackson Rd.

Dexter Patch: What types of services do you offer?
Kokmeyer: We offer websites for small- to medium-size businesses and organizations, email marketing campaigns (with Constant Contact), media productions (videos, slide shows, PowerPoints, podcasts), print materials (brochures, event fliers, advertisements, posters, sponsor handouts,
event programs, name tags), and computer training for employees and teachers.
Dexter Patch: What makes your business unique?
Kokmeyer: We really care about the success of our clients’ businesses. We act as teammates by providing face-to-face interactions, listening to our customers' needs and developing sites that bring out their visions.
We treat each client with respect and deliver what we promise. We have earned a
reputation as hardworking, honest businesswomen who are committed, easy to work with and creative.
Dexter Patch: Tell us about your family.
Kokmeyer: My family first moved to Dexter when I was in fifth grade. After I graduated from , I attended college at Michigan State University and started a family while teaching in the Lansing Waverly
School District. I moved back in 2001 so my children could attend Dexter schools and to be close to family and friends. My daughter is now a sophomore in high school, and my son is a college freshman.
Dexter Patch: What are some benefits of working in a small town such as Dexter?
Kokmeyer: I would say it's the community involvement and support. In the beginning, we focused on the Dexter/Ann Arbor area, got involved in local events and did a lot of volunteer work. Word spread quickly, and we developed many local contacts. It’s a lot of fun working in Dexter because when you meet with clients, you almost always find a friend in common.
Dexter Patch: What is something that others may not know about you?
Kokmeyer: Tracey (McGraw) Mayrand and I set the high school 440 relay record at Dexter High School, and now we are business partners.
Dexter Patch: How would you use Dexter Patch to promote your business?
Kokmeyer: Publicity is good for business, and good business provides for job creation.
Dexter Patch: Do you use online marketing?
Kokmeyer: Our website makes up most of our online marketing because a well-designed site is the most cost-effective marketing tool you can use.
