'The Music Man' Coming to Dexter's Encore Theatre

Performances of the musical begin July 7.

There’s gonna be “trouble in River City” when The Music Man comes to .

The musical is directed by Jon Huffman, whose numerous credits include roles on Designing Women and Days of Our Lives.

An affectionate paean to Smalltown, U.S.A., of a bygone era, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, IA, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. But his plans to skip town with the cash may be foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian.
