3 Charged In Oakland County Gang-Related Shooting: Prosecutor

Two innocent people were injured in the shooting, prosecutors said.

SOUTHFIELD, MI — Three men are facing charges in connection with an Oakland County gang-related shooting that left two people injured last October, according to prosecutors.

The shooting happened on Oct. 28, 2025 at the BP gas station at 24722 Southfield Road in Southfield, according to police.

Prosecutors said DeAngelo Brown, 22, of Sterling Heights and Amaju Dozier, 23, of Auburn Hills were at the gas station when they spotted rival gang member 23-year-old Romello Johnson, of Harper Woods.

Prosecutors said the men started firing shots at each other, and an innocent person was struck in the arm.

As Johnson was trying to get back into his vehicle, prosecutors said Brown continued firing shots, which struck a person in a passing pickup truck. His injuries included a bullet in the chest, but is expected to be ok, prosecutors said.

Brown was charged with three counts of attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm and four counts of felony firearm.

Dozier was charged with two counts of attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of felony firearm.

Johnson was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm.

"Gun violence is a public health crisis that takes many forms, from mass shootings to suicides to gang shootings that terrorize communities and endanger people trying to live their everyday lives," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said.
