Administrators' Concessions Save Farmington Schools $167K
Lost pay will be restored if school district, struggling under declining enrollment and loss of state aid, becomes healthy again.

FARMINGTON, MI – Farmington Public Schools will save about $167,000 after administrators agreed to accept wage cuts and other concessions in a contract that will be retroactive to the start of the current school year and run until the end of the 2018-2019 school year.

The contract includes a promise that the lost pay will be restored if the district, which has faced declining enrollment and cuts in state aid, is able to make its budget healthy again, The Farmington Observer reports.

Still to be settled are contracts with the Farmington Education Association, Employee Support Personnel Association, Farmington Transportation Association and Custodial, Maintenance and Cafeteria Association.

The teachers’ contract expires in August, and the other three expire in June.
