ALERT: High Winds, Heavy Rain, Localized Flooding in Outlook
When are storms expected to hit your area?
The National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather statement that thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon could become severe in Metro Detroit with damaging wind in excess of 60 mph and locally heavy rain.
Affected areas include the Michigan Patch.com coverage area of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Genesee and Washtenaw counties.

The main threat is between 3 p.m. and midnight. The storms will be slow to move, clustering in a broken line moving from west to east, increasing the possibility of local flooding, the Weather Service said.
Local communities may activate spotters to keep an eye on the clouds.
