After receiving his medical education from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, OH. Tanzman served his general surgery residency at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He completed the plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Warren.
