Police Arrest Man Who Barricaded Himself In West Bloomfield Home
Police said the man barricaded himself inside the home following a Saturday night domestic altercation.
WEST BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A 45-year-old armed man was peacefully arrested Sunday afternoon after he barricaded himself inside a home on the 6000 block of Pebble Creek Woods Drive near 14 Mile and Farmington roads, West Bloomfield Police said.
The situation began following a domestic altercation Saturday night, in which a woman reported her drunk husband physically assaulted her, police said.
The husband then barricaded himself inside the home with a gun and the police department's Special Response Team set up a perimeter around the home, police said.

Residents in the area were asked to shelter in place while the situation was ongoing, police said.

When officers attempted to talk to the man early Sunday morning, he fired a single shot, in which no one was injured.
The situation was finally resolved when officers peacefully arrested him at 12:36 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Police said he was only one person in the home and his identify has not been released.
