Arson Suspected In Highland Post Office Fire; $6,000 Reward
The fire in the U.S. Post Office lobby caused more than $100,000 in damages, officials said.
HIGHLAND, MI — The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a woman who set fire to a Highland U.S. Post Office lobby on Sunday, officials said.
Officers responded to the burglary alarm at the post office and found flames and smoke in the lobby, which is open 24 hours a day, authorities said.
They called the Highland Township Fire Department, which extinguished the flames, officials said. The fire caused more than $100,000 in damages.

An Oakland County Sheriff's Office fire investigator determined from surveillance video a woman entering the lobby, igniting paper and placing it inside of a trash receptacle, officials said.
She is described by officials as a white female wearing a black hat and gray coat, carrying a red handbag and wearing white tennis shoes.

The reward is up to $5,000 from the Arson Prevention Reward Program via the Detroit Crime Commission for information leading to an arrest and an additional $1,000 reward from Crime Stoppers.
