I Am On Board With Trash Being Recycled

Over 31% of the garbage and yard waste generated annually is recycled rather than being sent to the landfill.

"Residents of Farmington Hills recycle at a rate higher than average for the
state of Michigan.  Over 31% of the garbage and yard waste generated annually is recycled rather than being sent to the landfill.  Participation at annual
household hazardous waste days also ensures proper disposal and/or recycling of
oil-based paint, pesticides, chemicals, solvents, used computer equipment, and
other hazardous materials, therefore removing them from the solid waste stream."

Friday, August 30, 2012 will be my second week of getting on board with the Farmington Hills recycling program.  Since I have a 64 gallon recycling bin that means 64 gallons is recycled rather than being sent to the landfill.

Just think of that number...64 gallons x Total Farmington Hills Population of 80,910 =  5,178,240 gallons of  every week could be recycled rather than being sent to the landfill.

So I am urging all of my fellow citizens to get on board with this program.
