Random Thoughts And Musings about Farmington - Farmington Hills

- Does anyone else think something different signal/road wise needs to be done at the Grand River/Halstead/M-5 interchange? That intersection is by far the most frustrating one I have to navigate on an almost daily basis.

- North Farmington High School senior, Sterling Sharp, captain and pitcher for the Raiders baseball team, is the real deal! I watched him pitch a complete game, two hit shutout, against what is supposed to be a pretty good Farmington Falcon baseball squad during their home opener.

- Baseball fans should really take the time to go out and see this kid (Sterling Sharp) pitch. How cool would it be to be sitting on your couch ten years from now, watching Major League Baseball, and being able to tell your kids or grand-kids, “Yeah, I saw him pitch when he was in high school”?

- Saw a very well dressed man get into a really fancy car at the Mobile gas station at Grand River and Drake. His car sported the vanity plate, “HNIC”. I wonder how often he gets asked about the meaning? The gentleman wasn't Don Cherry, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't the acronym for “Hockey Night In Canada”.

- Speaking of...

I'm told by a friend that he was turned down by the Secretary of State when aplying for a vanity plate honoring his alma mater. Might be because he graduated from the Technological Institute of Textiles & Sciences.

- Why do I think the new Ollie's (site of the old Farmer Jack at 9mile and Farmington) will be one of those stores many people shop at, but quite a few wont admit that they do?

- On a very serious note, was the FPS substitute teacher, accused of molesting a minor during school hours, removed from the approved substitute teacher list for a period of over a year sometime around ten years ago? If so, what was the reason for the one year removal and how did he get back on the approved list?
