BREAKING: Kia Recalls 256,000 SUVs with Steering Issues

Adhesive holding gear parts together may not be strong enough.

Problems with steering gears in some Kia Soul models could cause steering to fail, increasing the potential for crashes and injuries, the automaker said.

The auto industry has been hit by another recall, this time by Kia, which said Friday it is recalling more than 256,000 Soul compact SUVs in the United States because the steering could fail, increasing the potential for accidents.

In documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the automaker said steering gear components may break apart because the adhesive holding them together is not strong enough, the Associated Press reports.
