buybuy Baby Opens Today in Farmington Hills

The store offers 29,000 square feet of merchandise for newborns through toddlers.

Starting today, you can find everything from saline nose wipes and pacifier covers to designer cribs and strollers where you used to shop for books in Farmington Hills.

buybuy Baby quietly opened in Hunter's Square shopping center at 14 Mile and Orchard Lake Roads, with 29,000 square feet of merchandise for newborns to toddlers including furniture, strollers, clothing, and much more. (Not surprisingly, there's a full complement of American League-Central champion Detroit Tigers gear in baby and toddler sizes, placed close to the store entrance.)

Farmington Hills is one of the company's smaller stores; others range from 28,000 to 60,000 square feet. The company has two other Detroit metro locations, Canton and , and a third Michigan location in Kentwood, near Grand Rapids. The chain operates over 45 stores around the country.

A buybuy Baby store manager declined to comment, but the company's corporate office issued a statement:

“We are excited to have opened our fourth store in Michigan and look forward to sharing our long-standing traditions of exceptional customer service, great value and a broad assortment of merchandise with the Farmington Hills community,” Glen Cary, Director of Stores, said.

The store is open Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The company was founded in 1996 and acquired by Bed Bath & Beyond in 2007. There's also a in Hunter's Square.
