Cafe Cortina Earns AAA Four Diamond Rating

Café Cortina in Farmington Hills is among a handful of Michigan restaurants listed on the AAA's prestigious Four Diamond list.

No Michigan restaurants received a Five Diamond ranking for 2012.

In business for more than 35 years, Café Cortina offers an elegant atmosphere with a cozy fireplace. The restaurant prides itself on maintaining a garden that is the source of the fresh herbs and vegetables, including heirloom tomatoes, herbs, cucumbers, greens and peppers.

According to the motor club, the Four Diamond rating indicates the restaurant delivers "a distinctive fine-dining experience". "Menus reflect high degree of creativity and complexity using imaginative presentations to enhance market-fresh ingredients," the AAA website notes.

Only 2.7 percent of the 28,000 restaurants approved by AAA make the Four Diamond list. The company evaluates more than 59,000 lodgings and restaurants, and rates them on a scale of One to Five Diamonds. No Farmington Hills hotels were named to the Four or Five Diamond lists.
