<a href="https://www.ncjwmi.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan</a> (NCJW|MI) will provide a review of the most important cases that have faced the US Supreme Court in the past year at its annual Fall Focus program. U.S. Supreme Court 101 will be held on Wed. Oct. 14 at Adat Shalom Synagogue (29901 Middlebelt Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334) and will feature attorney Kelly Cruz J.D., Associate General Counsel at the University of Michigan. Cruz will provide a high-level overview of the role of the U.S. Supreme Court, the appointment process, and a review of some of the most consequential and controversial cases from the previous year. NCJW|MI is an organization at the forefront of voter advocacy, women’s reproductive rights and gun safety, holding programs and educational initiatives, such as Fall Focus, to promote social justice issues. Tickets for Fall Focus are $25; students are free with a student ID. Pre-registration for the program is mandatory; no walk-ins. Pastor Mark, along with some Pathways volunteers, will share their experiences and reflect on the impact and challenges of this important work.
