Car Crashes into Furniture Store; Farmington Hills Man Faces Charges

The front of the Abode Contemporary Furniture store at 12 Mile and Farmington Roads is left in shambles after the Tuesday accident.

A 51-year-old Farmington Hills man faces a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, after the car he was driving jumped a curb and crashed into the front of Abode Contemporary Furniture at 12 Mile and Farmington Roads, at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. 

According to Farmington Hills Police Lt. Mike Ciaramitaro, the driver backed out of the front of the store after the crash, drove away, and was later located. While there is no estimate of damages, he said the vehicle went about 30 feet into the store, knocking over displays and damaging property.
