
The "Childbirth Education Comprehensive Series" prepares expectant parents for the birth of their child. The four-week series is designed to help parents become informed participants in the birthing experience. Participants learn about the stages of labor, relaxation and breathing methods, strategies for managing discomfort, the partner's role in labor and delivery, C-section deliveries, medications, anesthesia and more. The class meets 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays: June 1, 8, 15 and 22. The cost for the series is $75.
The Beaumont, Farmington Hills Breast-feeding Clinic offers support to new moms who need assistance nursing their babies. "Breast-feeding Basics," a one-night comprehensive course, helps expectant parents get the breast-feeding process off to a strong start. This class is recommended for any woman considering nursing her baby. The course examines various products and supplies, including electric breast pumps. The class will take place Monday, June 13, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost for this class is $35.
