Children’s Miracle Network Awards Grants to Beaumont Children's

Funds benefit children's health programs at Beaumont Children's locations across Metro Detroit

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has announced financial support for programs of Beaumont Children’s. One million dollars in grants will be issued to enhance pediatric programs at Beaumont locations.

“Beaumont Children’s has enjoyed a 30-year relationship with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” said Brian Berman, M.D., pediatrician-in-chief of Beaumont Children’s. “In that time, CMN donations of more than $70 million have helped us pioneer new health care solutions for children and provide access to the latest research and technology.”

The success of the Beaumont/CMN Hospitals partnership relies upon the generosity of others. Along with support from Beaumont team members through an annual employee giving campaign, donations from also come from individuals in the community and corporate partners. Corporate partners often reach out to their employees and customers through promotions, generating donations gathered one dollar at a time. Major corporate partners include: Speedway, Costco, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Rite Aid, Ace Hardware, RE/MAX, Panda Express, Dairy Queen, Marriott, Delta Airlines and IHOP.

CMN funding supports pediatric programs at Beaumont Hospitals in Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak and Troy, as well as Beaumont Health Center, Center for Exceptional Families and other outpatient sites. A few of the latest CMN grants announced include:

  • Pediatric Neurology and Epilepsy - First in Michigan non-radiation test equipment, advanced training and technology to treat epilepsy ($66,000)
  • Pediatric Rehabilitation - Adaptive bikes for special needs children, gym equipment, assessment equipment, therapy machines, technology and lift for children in wheelchairs ($77,700)
  • Speech and Language Pathology – In-session home technology, speech generating equipment, sessions and support for communicating ($55,000)
  • Baby Fairs – Public events for the entire family to learn about the birthing experience, baby basics, first aid, car seat safety and more ($7,000)
  • Pediatrics – Panda warmers with accessories for infants, and sleeper Kangaroo recliners for additional comport and support while children are in the hospital ($175,700)
  • NICU – Simulation room for advanced training of infant CPR situations ($30,000)
  • Craniofacial – A 3-D imaging system to help with pediatric facial reconstruction ($31,000)
  • Pediatrics: NoBLE anti-bullying program brings awareness, support and solutions to this public health issue ($42,500)
