City of Farmington Hills Receives 'Voice of the People' Award

Farmington Hills was among 12 communities nation-wide to receive the award at the International City/County Management Association in Phoenix.

The City of Farmington Hills received the Voice of the People Award for Excellence from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the National Research Center (NRC) at the ICMA’s 98th Annual Conference held recently in Phoenix.

The City was one of 12 communities nation-wide that met the requirements to receive the Voice of the People Award. Award-winning communities must have received a service quality rating that was in the top three among eligible jurisdictions in 2011. For the City of Farmington Hills, the category in the top three was Police Services. Among Farmington Hills residents who participated in the National Research Center’s survey, 93 percent rated the Farmington Hills Police Department as delivering excellent or good services.

“The Police Department is proud to have received this recognition and gratified that residents gave our services such a high rating in the survey,” said Police Chief Chuck Nebus.
