Farmington Restaurant 'Closed for Remodeling' Is No Longer a Big Boy

The iconic Big Boy statue has been removed from a restaurant on Farmington Road that is no longer part of the Michigan-based franchise. 

The words "closed for remodeling" had been posted on the restaurant's message board sign since early June. Now that sign is gone, too. 

Big Boy CEO Keith Sirois told Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch today that he has no idea what will happen with the building, which is located just north of Eight Mile. 

"I don't know what it will be, but it will not be a Big Boy franchise," he said. 

Sirois said the restaurant had been part of the chain for "many years" before closing. He declined to say why the franchise relationship ended. 

Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch has been unable to contact the restaurant owner, but there's still a handwritten paper sign on the front door of the building that reads "Closed for Remodeling".
