Crime Report: Gun, Tennis Shoes, GPS Stolen from Vehicles in Farmington Hills
The following information was supplied by the Farmington Hills Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate a conviction.

Farmington Hills residents told Monday that items, including a .40 caliber handgun, were stolen from their vehicles.
According to reports, two residents on West Brandon had items, including a GPS unit, taken sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. A resident on Gateway Drive North told police that he last saw his handgun in his car at 11:30 a.m. Monday. He noticed the gun, CDs and a pair of Nike tennis shoes missing after he returned home from running errands.
Narcotics arrests
A 31-year-old Howell man faces charges after an officer stopped his vehicle for traffic violations early Sunday morning, at Grand River and Eight Mile. According to the report, the man told police he planned to visit someone at Sunset Trailer Park, but the person was not home. A check of his record uncovered a current license suspension and arrest warrant, both narcotics-related, out of Detroit. When police searched the man and his vehicle, they found a glass crack pipe and a film canister with residue that tested positive for cocaine, the report indicated.

A 19-year-old Farmington man stopped by police at Lamar and Orchard Lake Road on May 23 faces a charge of inhaling fumes for intoxication, after authorities found bags of K-2/Spice and a pipe in his vehicle. According to the report, a preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol level was .17, more than twice the .08 legal limit. The man was shaking badly and because of his condition, he was released to his mother, the report indicated.
Drunken driving arrests
A 49-year-old Flint man who disregarded a "no left turn" sign at Middlebelt and Grand River at around 5:18 a.m. Sunday faces a charge of driving while intoxicated. According to the report, the man failed sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol level was .20, more than twice the .08 legal limit. A check of the man's record showed four previous convictions for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

A 25-year-old Novi man faces a charge of drunken driving, after a two-car accident at 10 Mile and Grand River around 2:54 a.m. Saturday. According to the report, police noticed a strong odor of intoxicants as they talked with the man. A preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol level was .16, twice the .08 legal limit. The man's vehicle was impounded, the report indicated, because the vehicle identification number appeared to have been altered.
Thefts
A homeowner on Greening contacted police on Sunday after realizing items missing from his home since September of 2011 were likely stolen. According to the report, the man said he and his wife were puzzled by the disappearance of coins, a silver bar and diamond rings, which they noticed over the last several months. While cleaning a deck in the back of the home, the man noticed pry marks on the rear door and a broken deadbolt lock, the report indicated.
Air conditioning units were reported stolen from a home on Botsford Drive and a business on Orchard Lake Road on Friday. According to reports, an employee of the apartment complex said that theft was discovered when a resident reported her air conditioning wasn't working. The air conditioning unit on Orchard Lake was located on the side of an office building and last seen on Thursday.
A homeowner in the 22000 block of Treadwell called police May 23, after returning home to find items strewn on the floor, the refrigerator door open and food left on the counter and electrical equipment unplugged. Initially, the homeowner reported nothing was taken, but later discovered more than $1,000 in gas cards missing from a vehicle parked in the driveway. Items were also left behind, including an envelope addressed to a couple in Detroit, a pair of eyeglasses and a partly empty pop can.
Impersonating a police officer
A resident on Indian Creek Rd. contacted police Saturday afternoon, after a man who claimed he worked at "the state investigations office" threatened to put her behind bars. According to the report, police called and spoke to the man, who is not employed by a law enforcement or state agency. The report indicated that a Google search on his phone number turned up many complaints of similar threats for not paying debts owed.
Road rage
A 45-year-old Canton woman told police that a man who cut her off on an I-696 exit ramp later intentionally hit her vehicle, clipping the driver's side mirror. According to the report, the woman said the two drivers exchanged gestures after the initial incident. She told police that the other driver continued to harass her as she drove on Orchard Lake and 13 Mile Roads, and followed her until she turned into the drive at her workplace, where he accelerated and hit her car. The woman was able to give police a license plate number, the report indicated.
Vehicle theft
A resident on Middlebelt told police his vehicle was stolen some time around 4 a.m. on Friday. According to the report, the vehicle was last seen in front of the home in the 23000 block on Thursday and was missing at 6 a.m. Friday. The owner's girlfriend told police a neighbor heard the vehicle's engine start at 4 a.m.
